Our Mission
HavenPoint Resource Center empowers individuals and families affected by domestic violence to move from crisis to stability and from survival to self-sufficiency.
A haven. A starting point. A way forward.
HavenPoint Resource Center was born from a simple but powerful belief: no one should have to rebuild their life alone.
Our founder, Chanea Gater, understands firsthand how difficult it can be to navigate life during and after domestic violence. After experiencing domestic violence herself, she recognized that leaving an abusive situation is often only the beginning of a much longer journey.
For many survivors, the next question can feel overwhelming: Where will I go? How will I support myself and my children? How do I find employment? What resources are available to me? How do I begin rebuilding my life?
HavenPoint was created to help answer those questions.
Rather than focusing only on the moment of crisis, HavenPoint focuses on what comes next—helping survivors access practical resources, supportive services, workforce opportunities, education, and guidance that can lead toward greater stability and independence.
Our name represents exactly what we hope to provide: a haven—a safe point to begin again.
At HavenPoint, we believe a person's past does not determine their future. With the right support, resources, and opportunities, survivors can move beyond survival and begin creating the lives they envision for themselves and their families.
This is more than a resource center. It's a starting point for what comes next.
HavenPoint Resource Center empowers individuals and families affected by domestic violence to move from crisis to stability and from survival to self-sufficiency.
A future where every survivor has access to the support, resources, and opportunities needed to rebuild with confidence and independence.
Feel secure, heard, and respected.
